Dimitris Dionyssiou graduated from the University of Alexandroupolis Medical School in 1996. He specialized in Plastic Surgery at hospitals in Great Britain and at the Plastic Surgery Clinic of the University of Thessaloniki. He was awarded the title of Specialist Plastic Surgeon following his successful examinations by the Greek Board of Plastic Surgery.
Upon being awarded his specialty, he has subspecialized in reconstructive microsurgery in the Department of Plastic Surgery, Queen Victoria Hospital in Great Britain and in the Clinique Jouvenet in Paris, France. His main interest involves post mastectomy breast reconstruction with autologous tissue, lymphoedema surgery and reconstruction of large tissue deficits of the limbs due to malignant diseases or injuries, as well as, cosmetic surgery.
Within the framework of his continuing scientific training, he has attended numerous educational seminars and conferences, both in Greece and abroad, where he presented a significant number of scientific papers. Since 2010 Dr. Dionyssiou has been elected a faculty member of the teaching staff of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Medical School. He has a private practice activity of Plastic Surgery in Thessaloniki as well as in Serres.
